Angelica W. "Angel" Wawrzynek joined the law firm of Hefner, Eberspacher & Tapella, LLC on August 17, 2009.
Angel has handled a variety of cases over the past few years. She most enjoys litigation cases, including medical malpractice,
personal injury, and is interested in overall trial practice.
Angel attended Oak Park and River Forest High School in Oak Park, Illinois, graduating in 2003. Three years later, she graduated from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a B.S. in Mathematics and a minor in Computer Science.
Angel then attended University of Illinois College of Law, where she graduated cum laude in 2009. During law school, Angel was an active member of the Public Interest Law Foundation and the Myra Bradwell Association for Women Law Students. At the end of her second year, Angel was selected to be a member of the University of Illinois College of Law Trial Team, which she competed for during her third year. Her team set the school record by coming in second place in the Labor Law Competition that took place in Chicago, Illinois in the fall of 2008. Angel added still more to her experience by her choice in courses. In particular: Appellate Defender, Trial Advocacy I & II, and Illinois Civil Procedure & Evidence.
From the summer of 2007 through the spring of 2009, Angel worked as a law clerk for a law office in Urbana, where she gained practical experience with the law. She was also selected as a summer law clerk for Justice Daniel Schmidt of the Third District Appellate Court, in the summer of 2008.
Angel was admitted to practice law in the State of Illinois in 2009, and is currently a member of the Illinois State Bar Association ("ISBA"), a member of the Young Lawyers Division of the ISBA, the Treasurer and Secretary of the Coles Cumberland Bar Association, a member of the American Bar Association, and a member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association. She is also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, participating in the Governor Edward Coles-Sally Lincoln Chapter.
