Devin S. Mills joined the law firm of Hefner, Eberspacher & Tapella, LLC on March 14, 2011.
Devin attended Champaign Central High School in Champaign, Illinois, graduating in 2002. In 2006, he graduated with honors from Michigan State University with a B.A. in Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy, and a B.A. in English.
Devin attended the Georgetown University Law Center, where he graduated in 2010. While at law school, Devin held the position of Articles Editor for the Georgetown Journal of Legal Ethics, and served on the journal’s Editorial Board. During his second year, he co-authored the note "Modeling Optimal Mandates: A Case Study on the Controversy over Mandatory Professional Liability Coverage and Its Disclosure," which was published in the Georgetown Journal of Legal Ethics.
Commencing in the summer of 2008 through the spring of 2010 Devin was employed as a Research Assistant for Georgetown Law professor Vicki C. Jackson. Devin assisted Professor Jackson with legal research and writing on a number of legal subject areas including international law, comparative constitutional law, constitutional law, and federalism. Devin assisted Professor Jackson in research for a number of articles and for her scholarly book, Constitutional Engagement in a Transnational Era (2009).
Devin was admitted to practice law in the State of Illinois in November, 2010. Before joining the firm, Devin worked as a law clerk for Tom Hodson, Attorney At Law, and was employed for a short time as a law clerk by the law firm of Frederick and Hagle. While working as a law clerk, Devin gained practical experience in a variety of practice areas, including personal injury and landlord-tenant law.
Devin joined Hefner, Eberspacher & Tapella, LLC as an associate attorney in 2011. Devin is currently engaged in the general practice of law, including personal injury, medical malpractice, general civil litigation, probate and guardianships, and real estate law.
