Daniel C. Jones


Daniel C. Jones is engaged in the general practice of law, including civil litigation, business law, and personal injury. He is admitted to all state and appellate courts in Illinois and the Central and Southern Districts of the United States Federal District Courts.

Dan graduated from Villa Grove High School in 1986. He continued his education at the University of Illinois, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History in 1990. Dan then attended Southern Illinois University School of Law and obtained his J.D., Magna cum Laude, in 1993. While there, he served on the Editorial Board of the Southern Illinois University Law Journal, was Captain of the School's International Law Moot Court team and was inducted into the Order of the Barristers. Dan also worked at the Law School's Elderly Clinic, assisting staff attorneys in representing Senior Citizens throughout the 13 southernmost counties of Illinois.

From 1993 to 1998, Dan worked as an attorney at the law firm of Meyer, Austin and Romano, P.C. in Taylorville, Illinois. He concentrated his practice there in civil litigation and family law. He was also active in the Taylorville Optimist Club, and he was a member of the Board of Directors of the United Way of Christian County.

In 1998, Dan joined the law firm of Hefner, Eberspacher & Tapella, LLC. He is a member of the Coles/Cumberland County Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, and the American Association for Justice. Dan is also an active member of the Advisory Board of the Salvation Army of Coles County, and is a Board Member of the Mattoon Foundation for Academic Excellence.
